" Magee Wireless Project Recognised by Another Two Prizes"
The Intelligent Systems Research Centre, in the School of Computing and Intelligent Systems at Magee, has once again been successful in gaining awards for the DETI Broadband Flagship project.

City to go Wireless
Derry is set to be one of the first cities in Europe to be fully wireless-enabled. Specialist contractors have been appointed by Derry City Council to install a Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) network across the entire city centre by spring 2006.

Telindus set to drive "Walled City to Wireless City " Project - 22nd September 2005
As part of the ongoing Wireless City project the partnership of Derry City Council (DCC), the University of Ulster (UU), Magee and the North West Institute of Further and Higher Education (NWIFHE) have appointed Telindus, in conjunction with their strategic partner Trapeze Networks, to install an internal wireless network in the Derry City Council offices, the University of Ulster, Magee and NWIFHE Campuses.

From Walled City To Wireless City Derry Is A Winner - 13th September 2005
Derry today received official designation as the location for Northern Ireland’s Broadband Flagship Project from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment. The project “Walled City to Wireless City” is an innovative partnership between Derry City Council, the University of Ulster and North West Institute of Further and Higher Education and was launched today in the historic surroundings of the City’s Guildhall.

A £1.38m ‘Wireless City’ project linking the University’s Magee campus to Derry City Council and the NWIFHE was unveiled today by DETI Minister Angela Smith – 21 June 2005
Called the Northern Ireland Broadband Flagship initiative, the network’s aim is to help business, tourism and the education sector in the city make the most of the potential offered by today’s high-speed communications technology.
